Wellness for Adults in Recovery provides an easy to use program for adults dealing with substance abuse or other addictions who want to create an active, healthy and substance-abuse free lifestyle.
Wellness for Adults in Recovery is founded on the evidence-based Prevention Plus Wellness (PPW) Model, which has been used to develop dozens of brief programs and tools that successfully integrate wellness promotion with reducing and avoiding substance abuse.
This program was designed to increase wellness enhancing behaviors like physical activity, sports participation, healthy eating, getting adequate sleep, and practicing stress control while maintaining recovery by reducing and avoiding alcohol, marijuana and other drug use and problems.
Wellness for Adults in Recovery targets naturally motivating positive wellness-based images to increase personal goal setting to improve multiple healthy habits and positive self-identity. This program is highly flexible and can be used as a self-help strategy, or as an add-on component to other recovery, treatment or intervention programs. It can also be repeated over and over again, providing a sustained intervention.

Dr. Chudley Werch was raised in rural Wisconsin where he experienced alcohol and drug use as a normal part of daily living. He received his PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1983 and began his career in addictions prevention, education, research and writing. He has held several tenured academic positions and retired to found Prevention Plus Wellness, LLC where he serves as President. Dr. Werch created four nationally recognized evidence-based substance abuse programs. He lives in Jacksonville Florida with Lauren, his wife of 33 years, and has three adult children.
