Prevention Plus Wellness (PPW) Screening, Brief Intervention & Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) is an evidence-based practice and a reimbursable service.

PPW-SBIRT is a four-step prevention and early intervention-focused process of screening, feedback, goal setting and referral to treatment designed to prevent and reduce substance use/misuse (e.g., alcohol, e-cigarette, marijuana, opioids, and others) and promote healthy lifestyle behaviors, including regular physical activity, nutrition, sleep, and stress control for protecting and improving the mental and physical wellbeing of youth and adults.

PPW-SBIRT includes the validated CRAFFT screening tool for adolescents and the ASSIST-Lite screener for adults to identify high-risk individuals for referral to treatment.

PPW-SBIRT are implemented to individual youth or adults in one 45-50 minute session.

Materials include directions for implementation, and an easy-to-follow online script for providing a screening survey to tailor prevention messages, the CRAFFT or ASSIST-Lite screening tool to identify high-risk substance use, a motivational prevention intervention feedback protocol, PowerPoint slides to present during the prevention/intervention feedback, a goal plan for initiating behavior change and increasing self-regulation skills and self-efficacy, and referral to treatment recommendations for high-risk participants.  Online self-paced training for implementers is included.

Cost: $1,999 per year for one site.  Multi-year licenses available upon request.

Addition sites are $500 each.
