The Parent Prevention Plus Wellness (PPW) Training Programs are our original evidence-based youth programs adapted for presentation to parents and caregivers.

These four trainings are designed to provide parents/caregivers with an understanding of how to motivate their youth to both avoid substance use/misuse and increase their healthy behaviors to enhance their mental and physical wellbeing, performance and happiness.

The Parent PPW Training Programs are a great way to reinforce prevention and health messages and motivation gained during youth presented PPW programs.

These Programs consist of four one-session PowerPoint-driven workshops for parents/caregivers presented by prevention and health professionals or other parents. 

Program training materials target four critical substances used/misused by youth, including:

1) Alcohol and drugs,

2) Vaping e-cigarettes,

3) Marijuana, or

4) Opioids.

Each parent training session is designed to introduce parents/caregivers to the 5-step PPW Parent Model for motivating youth multiple health behavior improvement and lead a healthier and happier life. 

Each of the Parent Prevention Plus Wellness Training Programs for prevention and health professionals includes a:

• Set of 4 PowerPoint training slides addressing alcohol, opioid, marijuana and e-cigarette prevention, and 
  
• Recording modeling how to present the slides. 

A Parent PPW Training of Trainer (TOT) Agreement is also available for purchase for those who wish to have other prevention and health professionals in their region offer the Parent PPW Training Programs.  Eligibility requirements for the Parent PPW TOT includes purchasing and implementing a Parent PPW Training Program at least one time.
