This is an evidence-based, easy to present 2-hour PowerPoint-driven training program for use by prevention and health professionals to train youth leaders in prevention and wellness.
The goals of the training for participating adolescents include:
1. Describe common healthy behavior problems among youth.
2. Identify links between key healthy behaviors (i.e., physical activity, nutrition, sleep and stress control) and substance use prevention, mental and physical wellbeing, performance and happiness.
3. Participate in an evidence-based 5-step program titled SPORT Prevention Plus Wellness for living a healthier lifestyle and strengthening prevention and wellness for youth.
4. Demonstrate how to apply the 5-step program model to promote prevention and wellness among youth peers.
Training materials include PowerPoint slides, a recorded webinar modeling how the slides can be presented to youth, and evidence-based program model materials (SPORT PPW) for implementing the training to youth leaders and resources for them to share with their peers, i.e., screening survey, goal plan, calendar log.
This product allows training to an unlimited number of youth leaders.
