Here are three easy steps to follow to decide what are the perfect Prevention Plus Wellness (PPW) program(s) and training to choose for your organization.
Step 1: Identify your target audience’s age group(s). PPW offers programs for elementary, middle and high school-aged youth as well as young adults and adults. Prevention providers will often target multiple age groups, for example, both middle and high school-aged youth, or high school-aged youth and young adults (ages 18-25).
Step 2: Select your program(s). We have single-session evidence-based programs that are designed to prevent youth alcohol and drug use (SPORT), alcohol and cannabis use (SPORT AC), as well as marijuana, e-cigarette and opioid use/misuse (Marijuana, Vaping and Opioid PPW programs, respectively).
We also offer two multi-session youth programs, as well as a single-session alcohol and drug use prevention program for young adults (InShape), opioid and stimulants prevention program for young adults and two InShape programs for adults. Plus, we have single-session parent training programs and media campaigns.
Step 3: Identify the number of individuals who’ll be implementing your program(s). For example, if you have two people, you’ll need two program manuals, which come with digital downloads of all reproducible materials, as well as two online self-paced program implementer training courses so your staff can become certified to implement your program(s) with fidelity.
Lastly, if you want to extend your prevention footprint across your entire region or state by offering training and program materials to other teachers, counselors, coaches, nurses, parents and youth leaders, consider one or more of our Unlimited PPW Program & Training Licenses.
