The Prevention Plus Wellness (PPW) Interactive Online Programs are a self-paced, fully web-based program for adolescents (ages 10-18) and young adults in school, college, community, and home settings.

The PPW Interactive Online Programs present the identical content of the original evidence-based PPW programs, but in a virtual format freeing up your time to monitor program implementation and outcomes as the teacher or facilitator.

In addition, the PPW Interactive Online Programs contain fully narrated videos and include quizzes, games and other fun, interactive strategies to engage participating youth.

Teachers can have students take the course together in a classroom or group setting using a tablet, Chromebook, laptop, computer or smart phone.  Or, youth can also be provided with a link and instructed to take the program on their own in school, community or home settings. 

Pretest and posttest survey links are provided to evaluate the program's effectiveness.  A fillable and downloadable goal plan and log are provided at the end of the program.  

Students receive a certificate of completion after completing the program which they can share with their instructor or parent.  

The PPW Interactive Online Programs follow the same 3-step evidence-based screening and brief intervention model as all PPW programs, including:

  1. Screening youth to increase awareness of their current health behaviors,

  2. Presenting positive future image content to increase motivation for change and link both healthy and substance use habits, and

  3. Instructing youth to complete a multiple behavior goal plan/contract to initiate health behavior change and increase self-regulation skills and self-efficacy.

The PPW Interactive Online Programs provide a rich visual and audio learning experience for youth taking about an hour to complete.  Instructors can extend the program if they wish by assigning additional weekly goal setting assignments with daily behavior monitoring to strengthen youth self-regulation skills and self-efficacy.
