New Study Highlights Need for More Youth & Young Adult Substance Use Prevention

Invited comments on a new national study published in JAMA Network found parental marijuana use was associated with the use of marijuana and tobacco and opioid misuse by adolescent and young adult offspring and alcohol use by adolescent offspring living at home.

The authors called for more prevention by health care providers and parents, including screening household members for marijuana use.
