Prevention Plus Wellness (PPW) Screening, Brief Intervention & Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) is an evidence-based practice and a reimbursable service.
PPW SBIRT includes a four-step process of screening, feedback, goal setting and referral to treatment designed to prevent substance use/misuse (e.g., alcohol, e-cigarette, marijuana, and opioids) and promote healthy lifestyle behaviors, including regular physical activity, nutrition, sleep, and stress control essential to protecting and improving the mental and physical wellbeing of youth and adults.
PPW SBIRT includes the validated CRAFFT screening tool or ASSIST-Lite for adults to identify high-risk individuals for referral to treatment.
