Prevention Plus Wellness (PPW) Screening, Brief Intervention & Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) Programs are evidence-based screening, prevention and early intervention within a single brief session for youth and young adults in health clinic, school and community settings

PPW-SBIRT Programs use a proven four-step model consisting of screening, feedback, goal setting and referral to treatment designed to prevent and reduce substance use/misuse (e.g., alcohol, e-cigarette, marijuana, opioids, and others) while also promoting healthy lifestyle behaviors, including regular physical activity, nutrition, sleep, and stress control for protecting and improving the mental and physical wellbeing of youth and adults.

PPW-SBIRT Programs include the validated CRAFFT screening tools for adolescents and the ASSIST-Lite screener for adults to identify high-risk individuals for referral to treatment or additional services.

PPW-SBIRT Programs include easy to follow scripted implementation protocols with PowerPoint slides to enhance participant learning and motivation.  These programs can be implemented in one 30-45 session.  

Program options include:

1) SPORT (Alcohol/Drug) PPW-SBIRT for high school adolescents,

2) SPORT (Alcohol/Drug) PPW-SBIRT for middle school adolescents, and

3) InShape (Alcohol/Drug) PPW-SBIRT for college/young adults.
